The story focus on a middle aged single mother, Miss Shirley who had just recieved a diagnosis of terminal cancer. With the help of the pot smokin, gun totin, god fearing grandmother, Madea the matriarch in general and Shirley's Aunt Bam, she assembles her 5 grown children (and their significant others) for one final reunion. Everything that happens as a result of Shirley's major announcement, will either bring them together or tear them apart forever.
